Embody Wholeness

Group Yoga Therapy in honor of SVAM

  • Ended
  • Free or by donation
  • Studio 121

Service Description

People who have been affected by sexual violence are invited into this space to explore their connection to Self, develop skills for self-compassion and empowerment, and embody their wholeness. These 90-minute workshops will begin with introductions and education including the philosophy and useful application of this movement-based method of self-inquiry and change. Then, there will be 45 minutes of an embodied experience followed by a reflection/deepening practice (such as journaling). Each session will close with a circle. Participants are encouraged to come to all sessions in this series but are also welcome to only attend those sessions that work for them. Everyone must sign up for the series and can email if they can't make a session. Participants will... *learn about the yoga therapy process and how it works, *explore the embodied practice in a safe and supportive environment, *engage in an activity to deepen their understanding, and *share and learn from one another in a community of people with similar lived experiences. No yoga experience is necessary. All equipment will be provided for this practice. Dress in anything in which you feel comfortable moving (don't feel like you have to wear "yoga clothes"), have a bottle of water, and have your technology silenced when you arrive. If you like, bring your favorite journal! You will not need to check in at the front desk, you can go directly to Studio 121 where this series is being held.
